Acrylic & Chlorinated Rubber Anti-Corrosion Coatings — Full Product Range

4 sub-types: acrylic topcoats, chlorinated rubber primers and intermediate coats, CR topcoats, and CR-acrylic hybrid primer/topcoat systems for steel structures, marine vessels, bridges and concrete in moderate-to-severe corrosion environments.

Acrylic and chlorinated rubber coatings are the workhorses of industrial anti-corrosion finishing — single-component, physical-dry systems that cure at ambient temperature without two-component mixing complexity. Their outstanding weathering resistance, colour and gloss retention, seawater resistance and compatibility with epoxy and zinc-rich primer systems make them the standard finish coat choice across bridges, marine structures, port machinery, gas holders and industrial plant in moderate-to-severe corrosion environments.

The series covers four platforms: single-component acrylic topcoats (including a premium 2-pack acrylic-polyurethane finish for maximum durability), single-component CR primers and MIO intermediate coats for the full CR system, CR topcoats in standard and high-build grades, and CR-acrylic hybrid primer/topcoat products that combine CR corrosion resistance with improved appearance and weathering from the acrylic component.

System selection depends on corrosion severity, substrate type and appearance requirements — from standard acrylic topcoats to full CR primer/mid-coat/topcoat systems for severe marine and industrial environments.

Bridges & Structural Steel

Bridges, transmission towers, TV masts and industrial steel frameworks demand coating systems with superior adhesion, mechanical toughness and colour retention over 10+ year service cycles. The PLS53-61 primer → PLS53-62 MIO intermediate → PLS52-3 HDI aliphatic topcoat system meets ISO 12944 C4–C5 requirements for structural steel corrosion protection.

Gas Holders, Underground & Submerged Steel

Dry gas holders, underground pipelines and submerged steel structures require primers with good wetting of corroded or poorly prepared steel surfaces and strong adhesion under difficult application conditions. PLJ53-60 CR aluminium primer and PLJB53-60 CR-acrylic primer both offer direct application on Sa 2.5 or St 3 prepared steel with good wetting performance. PLJB53-60 offers lower surface preparation sensitivity for difficult-to-blast areas.

Marine Vessels & Port Machinery

Ships, containers, port cranes and marine equipment face severe marine atmosphere with high salt spray, UV and mechanical impact. The full CR system — PLJ53-60 aluminium primer + PLJ53-62 MIO intermediate coat + PLJ52-81 or PLJ52-82 CR topcoat — is the proven specification for marine atmosphere protection. CR-acrylic hybrid PLJB52-80 topcoat offers improved appearance over standard CR finish without sacrificing corrosion resistance.

Industrial Plant, Concrete & Building Structures

Construction machinery, agricultural equipment and industrial vehicles require coating systems that resist mechanical abrasion, oil contamination and repeated washing cycles.
