BS04-1 Acrylic Polyurethane Enamel Topcoat Description

Overview
Two-component acrylic polyurethane enamel topcoat for steel structures and equipment requiring weatherability and corrosion resistance in outdoor exposure.
Film emphasizes balanced hardness, adhesion, gloss/color retention, and resistance to damp-heat and salt spray on automotive and structural steel.

Composition
Part A: acrylic resin with high-durability pigments/fillers, additives, and solvent.
Part B: biuret curing agent.

Typical uses
High-weatherability decorative topcoat for automobiles, construction machinery, ships, bridges, and steel structures in outdoor service.

Technical data (typical)

  • Color: various colors.

  • Density: 1.2 kg/L.

  • Theoretical consumption: 0.13 kg/m² at 40 µm DFT (loss not included).

  • Drying time (25℃): surface dry 1 h; hard dry 24 h; full cure 7 d.

Application data (25°C)

  • Mixing ratio (Part A:Part B): 20:2.

  • Induction time: 5 min at 25℃.

  • Pot life: 4 h at 25℃.

  • Application methods: airless spray, brush.

  • Thinner: dedicated thinner, 2–8% (higher for air spray/roller).

  • Recoat interval: min 24 h; max 7 d.

  • Recommended coats/DFT: 1 coat 30–50 µm; brush/roller 1 coat 30–40 µm.

  • Recommended system: acrylic polyurethane primer + acrylic polyurethane intermediate coating + acrylic polyurethane enamel topcoat.

Surface preparation
Over primer: primer surface free of oil and dust; do not exceed maximum recoat interval; roughen if exceeded.
As first primer: blast-clean to Sa 2.5 or power-tool clean to St 3; surface profile 30–75 µm.

System compatibility / packing / storage

  • System compatibility: topcoat in full acrylic polyurethane systems for outdoor steel structures.

  • Construction conditions: RH ≤85%; 5–35℃; avoid rain/snow, strong wind (>6.7 m/s), heavy fog, intense sunlight.

  • Storage: dry, ventilated warehouse away from fire/heat sources; no outdoor stacking; shelf life 12 months.

  • Packing: Part A 20 kg; Part B 2 kg.
