PLH53-5 Epoxy Rust-Tolerant Anti-Rust Primer Description

Overview

PLH53-5 Epoxy Rust-Tolerant Anti-Rust Primer is a two-component, polyamide-cured epoxy rust-tolerant anti-rust primer designed for application on slightly rusted steel surfaces and incompletely cleaned metal surfaces.

The product is formulated with epoxy resin, active anti-rust pigments, organic nitrogen base, penetrant, stabilizer, additives, and solvent, and is supplied with a polyamide curing agent as Part A and Part B. The coating film is described as forming stable complexation with the substrate before hardening to stabilize rust and provide durable rust protection.

Key Benefits

  • Designed for application on slightly rusted steel surfaces

  • Suitable for incompletely cleaned metal surfaces

  • Minimum surface preparation is stated as St1/St2

  • Described as stabilizing rust before hardening

  • Can be applied by airless spray, brush, or roller

  • Compatible with a wide range of intermediate coatings and topcoats

This primer is suitable for steel protection projects where rust-tolerant application and simplified surface preparation are required.

Typical application areas

  • Slightly rusted steel surfaces

  • Incompletely cleaned metal surfaces

  • Steel substrates requiring anti-rust priming

Maintenance and repair uses

  • Direct application on slightly rusted steel

  • Direct application on incompletely derusted metal surfaces
