Marine Coating Products
Five hull and deck coating products covering every zone of a ship’s exterior from below the waterline to the deck surface — in chlorinated rubber and two-component epoxy formulations.
The Huili Coating Marine Coatings Series is a complete range of hull zone protection coatings for commercial vessels, workboats and industrial marine craft. The series covers three critical hull zones: the waterline zone, where the hull alternates between wet and dry immersion with every tide and sea state, demanding exceptional wet/dry cycling resistance; the topsides zone, where the hull above the waterline requires weathering, UV and seawater splash resistance combined with decorative quality; and the deck surface, where heavy pedestrian traffic demands an abrasion-resistant, anti-slip coating. PL841 and PLHS-2 serve the most demanding waterline zone with chlorinated rubber and two-component epoxy chemistry respectively. PL844 provides the hull topsides finish, PL842 delivers anti-slip deck protection, and PL882 serves as the anti-rust primer for water-above-waterline zones — compatible with epoxy MIO intermediate coats, chlorinated rubber topcoats and polyurethane finishes.

Application Environments
Marine coatings are specified by vessel zone — not vessel type. Each zone presents distinct performance demands that determine coating chemistry selection.
Waterline Zone — Wet/Dry Alternation Service
The waterline zone is the most demanding location on any hull — alternately immersed in seawater and exposed to atmosphere, UV radiation, wave impact and the mechanical stresses of contact with fenders, quay walls and floating debris. PL841 single-component chlorinated rubber waterline paint provides cost-effective wet/dry cycling resistance for standard service vessels. PLHS-2 two-component epoxy waterline paint provides a superior performance solution for vessels in demanding or tropical service conditions where the additional water resistance and hardness of an epoxy system are required, building 80–100 μm DFT in two coats over epoxy primer.
Hull Topsides — Above-Waterline Exterior Finish
The hull topsides zone extends from the waterline to the main deck level — exposed continuously to UV radiation, salt spray, atmospheric pollution and the mechanical impacts of port operations. PL844 chlorinated rubber / acrylic blend topside finish provides the combination of outstanding weathering and UV durability, seawater splash resistance, tough flexible film and wide colour availability required for the decorative and protective finish coat on the hull topsides of commercial vessels, ferries and workboats. Applied over PL882 epoxy anti-rust primer for a complete above-waterline corrosion protection system on Sa 2.5 / St 3 prepared steel.
Deck & Working Surfaces
Weather decks, working platforms and passenger walkways on commercial vessels, ferries and offshore support vessels require coatings that combine reliable anti-slip performance with abrasion resistance against foot traffic, cargo handling equipment and deck machinery. PL842 chlorinated rubber anti-slip deck paint incorporates proprietary anti-slip aggregate providing excellent non-slip performance in both wet and dry conditions, combined with the oil resistance, water resistance and tough adhesion characteristic of chlorinated rubber resin systems. Specified in multiple colours for demarcation and safety marking applications as well as standard deck protection service.
Ship Bottom & Anti-Rust Primer Systems
Below-waterline ship bottom structures and above-waterline structural steel require a high-build epoxy anti-rust primer as the foundation of any corrosion protection system. PL882 epoxy anti-rust primer achieves 80 μm DFT in a single coat at 0.2 kg/m², providing a robust mechanical and chemical barrier layer that is fully compatible as the primer under epoxy MIO intermediate coats, chlorinated rubber topcoats, polyurethane topcoats and the PLHS-2 epoxy waterline paint system. Sa 2.5 / St 3 surface preparation is required. PL882 also serves as a standalone anti-rust primer for above-waterline steel structures of all types where corrosion protection without a topcoat finish is acceptable.
