Acrylic polyurethane intermediate coating (2K) for film build and intercoat bonding.
Vehicles, ships, bridges, structural steel systems.
0.13 kg/m² at 40 µm; recoat 8 h.
Sandable; resists solvents and chemicals.
Overview
Two-component acrylic polyurethane intermediate coating for steel substrates where intercoat adhesion, sandability, and weatherable film build are required.
Performance focus: fast drying, hardness, adhesion between layers, sandability, and resistance to solvents and chemicals.
Composition
Part A: acrylic resin with pigments, fillers, and additives.
Part B: polyisocyanate curing agent.
Typical uses
Intermediate coating for automobiles, construction machinery, mining machinery, ships, bridges, and steel structures.
Technical data (typical)
Color: various colors.
Theoretical consumption: 0.13 kg/m² at 40 µm DFT (loss not included).
Drying time (25℃): surface dry ≤1 h; hard dry ≤8 h; full cure 7 d.
Application data (25°C)
Mixing ratio (Part A:Part B): 16:4.
Induction time: 5 min.
Pot life: 4 h.
Application methods: airless spray, brush.
Thinner: dedicated thinner, 2–8% (higher for air spray/roller).
Recoat interval: min 8 h; max 7 d.
Recommended coats/DFT: 1 coat 40–60 µm; brush/roller 1 coat 35–50 µm.
Recommended system: acrylic polyurethane primer + acrylic polyurethane intermediate coating + acrylic polyurethane enamel coating.
Application conditions: RH ≤85%; 5–35℃; avoid rain/snow, strong wind (>6.7 m/s), heavy fog, intense sunlight.
Surface preparation
Over primer: primer surface free of oil and dust; do not exceed maximum recoat interval; roughen if exceeded.
As first primer: blast-clean to Sa 2.5 or power-tool clean to St 3; surface profile 30–75 µm.
System compatibility / packing / storage
Compatibility: used between acrylic polyurethane primer and acrylic polyurethane enamel coating.
Packing: Part A 16 kg; Part B 4 kg.
Storage: warehouse dry and ventilated; keep away from fire and heat sources; no outdoor stacking; shelf life 12 months.
