HS50 Acid-Resistant Coating Description

Overview
Two-component acid-resistant coating system supplied as primer, intermediate coating, and topcoat for severe corrosive environments.

Composition
Epoxy-containing hydroxyl resin, corrosion-resistant pigments and fillers, solvent, additives; polyisocyanate adduct as curing agent; supplied as two components for primer/intermediate/topcoat.

Typical uses
Protective and decorative coating for equipment and facilities in harsh corrosive conditions, including pickling plants, hot-dip galvanizing, electroplating plants, and petrochemical enterprises.

Technical data (typical)

  • Appearance: primer iron red; intermediate iron brown; topcoat various colors.

  • Theoretical consumption: primer 0.11 kg/m² (loss not included).

  • Theoretical consumption: intermediate 0.13 kg/m² (loss not included).

  • Theoretical consumption: topcoat 0.11 kg/m² (loss not included).

  • DFT: primer 40 µm; intermediate 45 µm; topcoat 40 µm.

  • Density: primer 1.40 kg/L; intermediate approx. 1.45 kg/L; topcoat 1.35 kg/L.

  • Drying time (25°C): surface dry 2 h; hard dry 24 h; full cure 7 d.

Application data (25°C)

  • Mixing ratio (A:B): 21:7.

  • Induction time: 5 min.

  • Pot life: 4 h.

  • Application methods: airless spray, brush, roller.

  • Thinner: HS dedicated acid-resistant thinner, 3–8%.

  • Recoat interval: min 24 h; max 7 d.

  • Recommended DFT per coat: 60–80 µm (brush/roller 30–40 µm).

  • System: HS50 primer + intermediate + topcoat.

Surface preparation
Steel: blast to Sa 2.5 or power-tool clean to St 3; surface profile 30–75 µm.

  • Packing: Part A 21 kg; Part B 7 kg.

  • Storage: dry, cool, ventilated; away from fire; avoid strong sunlight; no outdoor storage.
