PLHF-3 Modified Epoxy Furan Coating Description

Overview
Two-component modified epoxy furan coating for long-term heavy-duty corrosion protection in wet or chemical environments.

Composition
Epoxy furan resin, pigments, solvent, additives; modified amine hardener; supplied as Part A & Part B.

Typical uses
Long-term heavy-duty protection for steel structures and concrete facilities in underwater or humid environments and heavy chemical areas.
Can also be used as an intermediate coating.

Technical data (typical)

  • Appearance: various colors.

  • Theoretical consumption: 0.16 kg/m² at 50 µm DFT (loss not included).

  • Density: 1.25 kg/L.

  • Drying time (25°C): surface dry 2 h; hard dry 24 h; full cure 7 d.

  • Salt water resistance: 1 year, no film change.

Application data (25°C)

  • Mixing ratio (A:B): 20:4.

  • Induction time: 5 min.

  • Pot life: 4 h.

  • Application methods: airless spray, brush, roller.

  • Thinner: dedicated thinner, 3–8% (more for air spray/roller).

  • Recoat interval: min 12 h; max 7 d.

  • Recommended DFT per coat: 60–80 µm (brush 40–50 µm).

  • System: modified epoxy furan primer + topcoat.

Surface preparation
Steel: blast to Sa 2.5 or power-tool clean to St 3; surface profile 30–75 µm.

System compatibility / packing / storage

  • System compatibility: modified epoxy furan primer + modified epoxy furan topcoat.

  • Packing: Part A 20 kg; Part B 4 kg.

  • Storage: dry, cool, ventilated; away from fire; avoid strong sunlight; no outdoor storage.

  • Shelf life: 12 months.
