PLX53-2 High-chlorinated polyethylene intermediate coating

High-chlorinated polyethylene intermediate coating for corrosion resistance and “three-proof” service.

  • Intermediate layer; can be used as first coat.

  • Single-pack; min recoat 12 h at 25°C.

  • Compatible with acrylic and chlorinated ether topcoats.

PLX53-2 High-chlorinated polyethylene intermediate coating Descriotion

Overview
Single-pack high-chlorinated polyethylene intermediate coating with strong film compatibility and good anti-rust performance.
High solids, thick film build, fast drying, suitable for low-temperature application.

Composition
Formulated with high-chlorinated polyethylene resin, stable resin, lamellar anti-rust pigments, plasticizer, solvents, and additives.

Typical uses
Used as an intermediate coating in systems to improve corrosion resistance and “three-proof” performance.
Can also be used as the first coat primer.

Technical data (typical)

  • Appearance: Brown; grey.

  • Theoretical consumption: 0.14 kg/m² at 40 μm DFT (excluding loss).

  • Density: 1.4 kg/L.

  • Drying time (25°C): Surface dry 1 h; hard dry 24 h.

Application data (25°C)

  • Mixing: Single-pack.

  • Induction time: None.

  • Pot life: Unlimited.

  • Application methods: Airless spray, brush, roller.

  • Thinner: X-16 high-chlorinated polyethylene thinner; dilution 3–7%.

  • Recoat interval (25°C): Min 12 h; max unlimited.

  • Recommended coats / DFT: 1 coat 40–60 μm; brush/roller 1 coat 30–45 μm.

Surface preparation
Remove dust, oil, and debris from the previous coat; if beyond maximum recoat interval, consider roughening as needed.
When used as the first coat: blast/shot blast to Sa 2.5 or power-tool cleaning to St 3; surface profile 30–75 μm.

System compatibility / packing / storage

  • Compatibility: Previous coat—epoxy anti-rust coating; epoxy MIO intermediate coating; high-chlorinated polyethylene primer.

  • Compatibility: Topcoats—high-chlorinated polyethylene topcoat; acrylic topcoat; chlorinated ether topcoat.

  • Packing: 25 kg.

  • Storage: Shelf life 12 months; store dry/cool/ventilated, away from fire and direct sunlight; no outdoor stacking.
