2K epoxy coal tar anti-static coating for crude oil tank interiors and marine cargo tanks. Resistant to crude oil, accumulated water and temperatures up to 80°C. Sa2.5 prep, 150µm total DFT system.
Overview
Two-component epoxy anti-static coating system (primer/topcoat) for crude oil tank internal linings and crude oil cargo tanks.
Composition
Epoxy resin, reinforced resin, corrosion-resistant pigments and fillers, conductive fillers, additives, modified amine curing agent.
Typical uses
Dedicated for internal protection of crude oil storage tanks and ship crude oil cargo tanks in areas with static accumulation risk.
Technical data (typical)
Appearance: primer grey; topcoat light grey.
Theoretical consumption: 0.29 kg/m² at 120 µm DFT (loss not included).
Density: 1.4 kg/L.
Drying time (25°C): surface dry 2 h; hard dry 24 h; full cure 7 d.
Application data (25°C)
Mixing ratio (A:B): 20:2.
Induction time: 5 min.
Pot life: 3 h.
Application methods: airless spray, brush, roller.
Thinner: X-7 epoxy thinner, 3–9% (more for air spray/roller).
Recoat interval: min 24 h; max 7 d.
Recommended DFT per coat: 80–120 µm (brush/roller 40–50 µm).
System: PLH54-3 anti-static primer + topcoat.
Surface preparation
After compartment/tank assembly, abrasive blast clean to Sa 2.5; surface profile 30–75 µm.
If an inorganic zinc silicate shop primer is used for temporary protection, check curing; if under-cured, re-blast to remove it and clean contaminants before coating.
System compatibility / packing / storage
System compatibility: PLH54-3 crude oil tank internal anti-static primer + topcoat.
Packing: Part A 20 kg; Part B 2 kg.
Storage: dry, cool, ventilated; away from fire; avoid strong sunlight; no outdoor storage.
Shelf life: 12 months.
