Chlorinated rubber acrylic hull coating for above-waterline ship hull finishing.

  • Hull exterior above the waterline.

  • 0.16 kg/m² at 40 µm DFT.

  • Recoat after 8 h; max interval unlimited.

PL844 Chlorinated Rubber Acrylic Hull Coating Descriotion

Overview
Chlorinated rubber acrylic hull coating for ship hull areas above the waterline where weatherability and seawater resistance are required.
Performance focus: toughness, impact resistance, decorative finish, and low-temperature application capability.

Composition
Chlorinated rubber resin with acrylic resin, special weather-resistant pigments, toughening agent, solvent, and additives.

Typical uses
Surface protection and decoration for ship hull exterior areas above the waterline.

Technical data (typical)

  • Appearance: various colors.

  • Theoretical consumption: 0.16 kg/m² at 40 µm DFT (loss not included).

  • Density: 1.2 kg/L.

  • Drying time (25℃): surface dry 1 h; hard dry 24 h; full cure 7 d.

Application data (25°C)

  • Mixing ratio: single-pack.

  • Induction time: none.

  • Pot life: unlimited.

  • Application methods: airless spray, brush, roller.

  • Thinner: 101 thinner, 3–8%.

  • Recoat interval: min 8 h; max unlimited.

  • Recommended coats/DFT: 1 coat 30–50 µm; brush/roller 1 coat 30–40 µm.

  • Recommended undercoats: epoxy primer; chlorinated rubber antirust coating; chlorinated rubber intermediate coating.

Surface preparation
Over existing coating: remove dust, oil, and debris; roughen as needed if maximum recoat interval is exceeded.
As first coat: blast-clean steel to Sa 2.5 or power-tool clean to St 3; surface profile 30–75 µm.

System compatibility / packing / storage

  • Compatibility: compatible over epoxy primer and chlorinated rubber systems; suitable for low-temperature application; apply at RH ≤85%, avoid rain/snow/strong wind (>6.7 m/s)/heavy fog/intense sunlight.

  • Packing: 20 kg.

  • Storage: store in a dry, cool, ventilated warehouse; keep away from fire sources; avoid strong sunlight; no outdoor stacking; shelf life 12 months.
