PL841 Chlorinated Rubber Waterline Coating

Chlorinated rubber waterline coating for ship hull waterline zones.

  • Waterline protection and decoration.

  • 0.16 kg/m² at 40 µm DFT.

  • Recoat after 9 h; max interval unlimited.

PL841 Chlorinated Rubber Waterline Coating Descriotion

Overview
Chlorinated rubber waterline coating for ship hull waterline areas where alternating wet/dry exposure and oil resistance are required.
Performance focus: resistance to wet/dry cycling, wave impact, and weathering, with suitability for low-temperature application.

Composition
Chlorinated rubber resin with acrylic resin, special weather-resistant pigments, plasticizer, solvent, and additives.

Typical uses
Protection and decoration for ship shell waterline areas.

Technical data (typical)

  • Appearance: iron red, purple red, etc.

  • Theoretical consumption: 0.16 kg/m² at 40 µm DFT (loss not included).

  • Density: 1.2 kg/L.

  • Drying time (25℃): surface dry 1 h; hard dry 24 h; full cure 7 d.

Application data (25°C)

  • Mixing ratio: single-pack.

  • Induction time: none.

  • Pot life: unlimited.

  • Application methods: airless spray, brush, roller.

  • Thinner: 101 thinner, 3–7%.

  • Recoat interval: min 9 h; max unlimited.

  • Recommended coats/DFT: 1 coat 30–50 µm; brush/roller 1 coat 30–40 µm.

  • Recommended undercoats: epoxy primer; chlorinated rubber antirust coating; chlorinated rubber intermediate coating.

Surface preparation
Over existing coating: remove dust, oil, and debris; roughen as needed if maximum recoat interval is exceeded.
As first coat: blast-clean steel to Sa 2.5 or power-tool clean to St 3; surface profile 30–75 µm.

System compatibility / packing / storage

  • Compatibility: compatible over epoxy primer and chlorinated rubber systems; suitable for low-temperature application; apply at RH ≤85%, avoid rain/snow/strong wind (>6.7 m/s)/heavy fog/intense sunlight.

  • Packing: 20 kg.

  • Storage: store in a dry, cool, ventilated warehouse; keep away from fire sources; avoid strong sunlight; no outdoor stacking; shelf life 12 months.
