J55-4 Chlorosulfonated polyethylene cooling tower dedicated anti-corrosion and damp-proof coating (primer/topcoat) Description

Overview
Single-component chlorosulfonated polyethylene cooling tower dedicated anti-corrosion and damp-proof coating system for inner wall protection.
Provides resistance to chemical corrosion, freeze-thaw, damp heat, cold, and mildew; fast drying and suitable for low-temperature application.

Composition
Formulated with chlorosulfonated polyethylene resin, modified resin, pigments, damp-proof agent, vulcanization accelerator, and organic solvents.

Typical uses
Cooling tower inner wall protection.

Technical data (typical)

  • Appearance: Primer—red-brown; topcoat—various colors.

  • Theoretical consumption: Primer 0.12 kg/m² at 35 μm DFT; topcoat 0.12 kg/m² at 30 μm DFT (excluding loss).

  • Density: Primer 1.4 kg/L; topcoat 1.2 kg/L.

  • Drying time (25°C): Surface dry 1 h; hard dry 24 h.

Application data (25°C)

  • Mixing: Single-component.

  • Induction time: None.

  • Pot life: Unlimited.

  • Application methods: Airless spray, brush, roller.

  • Thinner: X-1 chlorosulfonated polyethylene thinner; dilution 3–7%.

  • Recoat interval (25°C): Min 12 h; max unlimited.

  • Recommended coats / DFT: 1 coat 40–60 μm; brush/roller 1 coat 30–40 μm.

Surface preparation
Steel: blast/shot blast to Sa 2.5 or power-tool cleaning to St 3; surface profile 30–75 μm.
Concrete: must be sound and dry (moisture content ≤6%), free of contamination; repair defects and apply after a sealing primer; for old coatings, roughen and remove chalked/loose parts.

System compatibility / packing / storage

  • Compatibility: J55-4 system—dedicated primer + topcoat.

  • Packing: 20 kg.

  • Storage: Shelf life 12 months; store dry/cool/ventilated, away from fire and direct sunlight; no outdoor stacking.
