PLSX-18 Waterborne Thermal Insulation Coating Description

Overview
Waterborne thermal insulation coating for steel and concrete surfaces requiring heat reflection and temperature reduction.
Film is designed for thermal insulation and reflective performance with supporting corrosion resistance and weatherability on tanks, buildings, and cold storage.

Composition
Waterborne resin and curing agent with thermal-insulation pigments, fibers, ceramic microspheres, aerogel, additives, and functional fillers; water as thinner.

Typical uses
Thermal insulation and anti-corrosion protection for external surfaces of facilities and equipment such as metal tanks, cold storage installations, concrete buildings, and wood components.

Technical data (typical)

  • Appearance: primer iron red or other color; intermediate grey; topcoat white.

  • Theoretical consumption primer: 0.19 kg/m² at 70 µm DFT (loss not included).

  • Theoretical consumption intermediate: 0.12 kg/m² at 50 µm DFT (loss not included).

  • Theoretical consumption topcoat: 0.21 kg/m² at 80 µm DFT (loss not included).

  • Drying time (25℃): surface dry 2 h; hard dry 24 h; full cure 7 d.

Application data (25°C)

  • Application methods: spray, brush, roller.

  • Thinner: clean water, 5–15%.

  • Recoat interval: min 24 h.

  • Recommended system: 2 coats waterborne insulation primer (70 µm each) + 1 coat waterborne insulation intermediate (50 µm) + 2 coats waterborne insulation topcoat (80 µm each).

Surface preparation
Steel: blast or power-tool clean to Sa 2.5 or St 3 with 30–75 µm profile before system application.

System compatibility / packing / storage

  • System compatibility: complete multi-layer insulation system using matching primer, intermediate, and topcoat.

  • Construction conditions: ambient 5–35℃ and at least 3℃ above dew point; not suitable in rain, fog, snow, or when RH >85%.

  • Storage: dry, cool, ventilated warehouse; 5–35℃; avoid strong sunlight, severe cold, and rain.

  • Shelf life: 6 months.
